Steven 'DJ' Riley

[JULY 5, 2006]  PEKIN -- Steven "DJ" Riley, 19, of 3707 Broadway, died Monday, July 3, 2006, at 12:59 p.m. in the emergency room at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Glenn Ioder officiating.

Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, near Tremont.

Mr. Riley had been working in construction.

He was born July 15, 1986, to Steven A. Riley and Cathy A. Lawson.

Surviving are his father, of Pekin; his mother and stepfather, Cathy (and Bob) Sanders of Lincoln; one sister, Kyla Riley of Pekin; a half brother, Austin Sanders of Lincoln; two stepsisters, Lindsey and Emily Sanders, both of Lincoln; his paternal grandparents, Stanley and Mary Jane Riley of Pekin; his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Lawson of Pekin; paternal great-grandmother Selma Riley of Tremont; maternal great-grandparents Carl and Mary Lawson of Pekin; several aunts and uncles, David Earl (and Melanie) Riley, Carol (and Toby) Turner, Ken and Kevin Lawson, all of Pekin, Karri Dunn of Boston, Mass., and Ken Riley of Villa Park; and his girlfriend, Sarah Benson of Mackinaw.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Gary Lawson, and paternal great-grandfather, Earl "Butch" Riley.

DJ was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved motor biking, music and hockey.
