NEW HOLLAND -- Harry Dean Boward, 52, of New Holland died
Friday, June 2, 2006, at 4:12 p.m. at his home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Middletown
United Methodist Church, Middletown, with the Rev. Dayle
Eldredge and the Rev. Rick Deters co-officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Middletown.
Mr. Boward worked for Holmes Trucking in New Holland and
had worked for many years as a paramedic for Lincoln-Logan
Ambulance and Springfield Area Ambulance. He had also worked
with Peddicord Farms for many years
He was born Oct. 4, 1953, in Lincoln to Harry and Esther
Rankin Boward.
He is survived by his parents, of Middletown; three
daughters, Deana L. Jones of Lincoln, Amy B. (and Scott)
Weidhuner of Virden and Hannah E. "Boo" Boward of Mount
Pulaski; his fiancee, Crystal Aspen, and her children,
Wendy, Candace and Brody, all of New Holland; one brother,
Kevin (and Lee Ann) Boward of Saunemin; one sister, Cheryl
(and Greenie) McGill of Springfield; three grandchildren,
Tabatha and Kristy Weidhuner and Michael Jones; one niece,
Jennifer Long; one nephew, Zachary Laubenstein; the mothers
of his children, Beth Stewart and Kathy Boward; and several
aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He was a member of Middletown United Methodist Church.
He was a founding member of the Middletown Fire
Department, which he served for 36 years, including 10 years
as chief. He was also a founding member of the Middletown
Rescue Squad and served for 30 years. He was a founding
member of the Logan County 911 board and past president of
the Logan County Fireman's Association.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family
or a charity of the donor's choice.
