Opal Williams

[JUNE 12, 2006]  Opal M. Williams, 94, formerly of Oblong, died Friday, June 9, 2006, at 8 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.

Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday at Markwell & Son Funeral Home in Casey, with Brother Jimmy Rue officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service.

Burial is in Casey-Cumberland Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams was a homemaker.

She was born Aug. 23, 1911, in Clark County to William and Nettie Whitehurst Chapman. She married Raymond L. Williams on April 30, 1932. He died Feb. 7, 2000.

She is survived by one son, Wilbur L. (and wife Virginia) Williams of Lincoln; two grandsons, Donald (and wife Marla) Williams of Lincoln and Ronald Williams of Lincoln; one granddaughter, Lesliea (and husband James) Palmer of Newman; and six great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elzi and Elvi Chapman, and two sisters, Gladys Williams and Ressie Elliott.

She was a member of Lincoln Church of Christ.

Memorials may be made to the Belair Church of Christ or Lincoln Church of Christ.
