Barbara Zimmerman

[JUNE 29, 2006]  Barbara J. "Barb" Zimmerman, 59, of Lincoln died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at 5:12 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bennett Funeral Home. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Mrs. Zimmerman had a passion for art and painted beautiful murals.

She was born Dec. 20, 1946, in Danville, Ind., to Floyd R. and Cora E. Daniels Hashman. She married Anthony "Tony" Zimmerman on Aug. 21, 1964.

She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; their two children, Cathy Witt (and her husband, Gene) of Lincoln and Anthony Zimmerman (and his wife, Misty) of Emden; six grandchildren; three brothers, Paul Hashman and James Hashman, both of Lincoln, and John Daniels of Plainsville, Ind.; and one sister, Diana Merreighn (and her husband, Ronnie) of Chestnut.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gene Hashman.

She attended Emden Christian Church and Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln.

Barb collected many things, including frogs, owls, Chinese art and items, and salt and pepper shakers. She saw beauty in the small things of life and loved to shop for her collectibles with her husband.

She will be missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in her art.

Memorials may be made to DeVita Healthcare Dialysis Center and will be accepted at the funeral home.
