[MARCH
31, 2006] The Lincoln Park District, in conjunction with
the Logan County Health Department, will host the 21st annual
Community Health Fair on Saturday. The fair will take place at the
Lincoln Park District Indoor Sports Center, 1400 Primm Road. Hours
will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free.
More than 70 organizations will have displays or offer health
screenings. While many of the screenings are free, there may be a
minimal fee for some. Screenings will be available for blood
pressure, blood sugar, diabetes, hemoglobin, cholesterol and many
others.
The Lincoln Police Department will again offer its child
identification program, including photos and fingerprinting. This
information is kept on file and is beneficial in locating missing
children.
Guests at the fair will learn new and innovative approaches to
wellness. Many new safety exhibits will be a part of this year's
event. There will be entertainment focusing on healthy leisure
activities. Dozens of door prizes donated by local merchants will be
awarded.
