McFadden helps Olivet Nazarene to NAIA national tournament          Send a link to a friend

[NOV. 29, 2006]  BOURBONNAIS -- Olivet Nazarene University sophomore volleyball player Michelle McFadden, a graduate of Lincoln Community High School, has been a vital player in helping the Tigers reach the NAIA national tournament for the fourth time in school history.

McFadden has appeared in 28 matches for the Tigers, registering 323 kills and 116 blocks. Her kill total is the fourth-highest on the team, while she is second on the team in blocks.

The Tigers are 30-13 overall and finished 8-1 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference, winning their sixth regular-season championship in seven years. The Tigers also won the conference tournament. In advancing to the NAIA national tournament, the Tigers won the NAIA Region VII championship for the second time.

The Tigers opened the NAIA national tournament against Houston (Texas) Baptist University on Tuesday morning. On Thursday, they face Concordia University of California at 9 a.m. and Hastings (Neb.) College at 1:30 p.m. The NAIA national tournament is being played at Columbia College in Columbia, Mo.
