Irene Walker

[OCT. 11, 2006]  Irene Katherine Walker, 73, of Lincoln died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, at 9:20 a.m. at her home.

A memorial service for Mrs. Walker will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Robert Henderson officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, rural Lincoln.

Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Walker retired in 1995 from Lincoln Development Center, where she was a health care technician.

She was born Jan. 29, 1933, in Whiting, Vt., to Deigton and Gladys Johnson Ketcham. She married Charles Brown on Oct. 22, 1954, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1975. She later married Bill Walker, in March 1977.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years; her children, Bruce (and Rita) Brown of Anna, Brenda (and Dan) Underwood of Lincoln, Brent Brown of Lincoln and Bridget (and Bruce) Carroll of Hannibal, Mo.; four brothers, Ted Ketcham, John Ketcham, Gordon Ketcham and Tom Ketcham, all of Vermont; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Brad Brown; one brother; and two sisters.

She was an avid fan of the Cubs and NASCAR.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lincoln, and memorials may be made to her church.
