[SEPT. 1, 2006]  Mary Geraldine Simons, 86, of Lincoln died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at 5:05 a.m. at the Christian Village.

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bennett Funeral Home, with Ryan Edgecombe officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Simons worked at Stetson China Factory in Lincoln for 14 years. She then was the head cook at Lincoln Development Center for 21 years. She retired in 1985.

She was born July 12, 1920, in Beason to Robert and Rachel Belcher Kerr. She married Raymond Simons on Oct. 16, 1937, in Lincoln. He died Aug. 31, 1987.

She is survived by four sons, Jerry (and Ann) Simons, John (and Linda) Simons and Jim Simons, all of Lincoln, and Larry (and Pat) Simons of Morris; one daughter, Brenda Simons of Lincoln; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one nephew, Robert Morris of Athens, and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Simons of Bloomington.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Scott, and a sister, Dorothy Roschnafsky.

She enjoyed bingo, gardening and canning.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
