Susan Sweeney

[SEPT. 11, 2006]  Susan Lee Sweeney, 84, of Lincoln died Sept. 5, 2006, at 6:57 p.m. at her home.

A memorial service for Mrs. Sweeney will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Bennett Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Sweeney was a cook for the former Heritage Inn, a teacher's aide for the West Lincoln-Broadwell School and a foster grand parent.

She was born July 3, 1922, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Ether and Ethel Parker Jones. She married Charles Elvin Sweeney in 1947, and he died in October 1998.

She is survived by one daughter, Pat (and Stephen) Zimmerman of Cape Town, Africa; one son, Gary (and Christina) Sweeney of Copperas Cove, Texas; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to the South African Christian Mission and will be accepted at the funeral home.
