[SEPT. 22, 2006]  Helen J. Poole, 71, of Lincoln, formerly of Atlanta, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at 8:50 a.m. at her home.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

No visitation is scheduled.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Atlanta Cemetery, Atlanta, with the Rev. John Horner officiating.

Following the graveside service, a celebration of life ceremony for family and friends will be at 3 p.m. at Friendship Manor, 925 Primm Road in Lincoln.

Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Poole had worked as a waitress and bartender at the Heritage Inn, Tropics, Crestwicke Country Club, Al's Main Event and Haji's Sports Bar.

She was born June 16, 1935, in McLean to Philemon and Gladys Fitzgerald Logsdon. She married Keith Mason in 1950. She later married David Poole in 1970.

She is survived by her children, Mike (and Teresa) Mason of Graviois Mills, Mo., Mary (and Ron) Mayberry of Atlanta, Mark Mason of Lincoln, Matt (and Mary) Mason of Lincoln, Laura (and Chuck) Greer of Lincoln and Leigh (and Josh) Horner of Hartsburg; one sister, Barb Foster of Atlanta; one brother, Wayne (and Nancy) Logsdon of Eureka; grandchildren Mandy (and Chris) Cordray, Marcia Cook, Sarah Cook, Brett Michalowski, Michele Brown, Brian Mayberry, Clint Mason, Ryan Mason, Jarred Mason, Erin Mason, Matthew Mason and Daisy Horner; great-grandchildren Alex and Cameron Anderson, Lyndsay Lucas, and Hannah and Ben Michalowski; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jane Zakrzewski and Margie Hall; and two daughters, Marcia Mason and Marla Steffens.

She attended the Liberty Baptist Church in Minier.

Mrs. Poole was very happy to have found a wonderful place to live at Friendship Manor. Her only regret was that she would have to leave a place where she was truly content and had made many friends.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Illinois, 720 N. Bond St., Springfield, IL 62702.
