John W. "Bill" Hill, 71, of Lincoln,
formerly of Atlanta, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at 2:30 a.m. at
Maple Ridge Care Centre. |

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta, with Maurice
Stribling officiating. Cremation rites will follow
the funeral service.
Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral
home.
Burial will be in Bluegrass Cemetery, rural
Atlanta, at a later date.
Mr. Hill had been employed at Pittsburgh Plate
Glass for 22 years and at the Dixie Truck Stop for
the last 15 years.
He was born Dec. 21, 1934, in Newburg to Paul
Elmer and Florence May Wheeler Hill. He married
Wilma Margaret Cisco in Atlanta on Nov. 7, 1964.
He is survived by his two daughters, Denise (and
Mark) Prince of Carterville and Lisa Bentz of
Lincoln; three sisters, Ruby Newingham of Roodhouse,
Pauline Kelly of Gulfport, Miss., and Karen Cook of
Atlanta; four brothers, Roy Hill, Pat Hill and Fred
Hill, all of Atlanta, and Merle Hill of Bloomington;
four grandsons, Johnathon Bentz, Joshua Bentz and
Thomas Bruce, all of Lincoln, and Brett Prince of
Carterville; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Prince
of Carterville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one
sister, Florence Hill; and one brother, Gary Hill.

Society or VNA Hospice Care of Illinois, 720 N. Bond
St., Springfield, IL 62702.
