Carolyn Wallinger

[April 05, 2007]  Carolyn Wenona Wallinger, 77, of Lincoln, formerly of Pekin, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home. A service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Chaplain Ryan Edgecombe officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery, Pekin.

Mrs. Wallinger retired from Pekin Insurance in 1994.

She was born Dec. 23, 1929, in Lincoln to James and M. Lucille Carson Moriearty. She married Ray C. Wallinger on Oct. 25, 1951, in Manito. He preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1980.

She is survived by one daughter, Dianne W. (and Stephen) Morse of Springfield; one son, Guy J. (and Carrie) Wallinger of Pekin; five sisters, Patricia Kelm of Decatur, Sue Westerfield of Decatur, Marjorie (and Jack) Poffenburger of Augusta, Ga., Jacqueline Simpson of Lincoln and Stephanie Moriearty of New Jersey; four brothers, James Moriearty of Lincoln, Norman (and Darlene) Moriearty of Effingham, David Moriearty of Lincoln and Michael (and Geralyn) Moriearty of Lincoln; a sister-in-law, Betty Moriearty of Lincoln; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, John Moriearty.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin, King's Daughters of Pekin and Pekin Insurance Retirees Club.

Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home.
