Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

Dear Editor: Our organization was recently blessed with an
outpouring of generosity and support from many community businesses
and organizations through a recent spaghetti dinner and silent
auction. The Lincoln Church of God "Because We Care" ministry took
it upon themselves to host a dinner for us, with all of the ticket
sale funds being put to good use in our child care center.
In order to pull this off, they enlisted the help of many area
businesses. We would like to take a moment to recognize and thank
all of them, and the Church of God, for their support of our
ministry. Our supporters were Lincoln IGA, Fox River Foods, Steak n
Shake, Bonanza, Rusty's, Daphne's, Hallie's, Glenn Brunk Stationers,
Graue Chevrolet, All About Me, McEntire's Maytag, MKS Jewelers,
Kroger, Wal-Mart, Shear Perfection and Rochelle Woolsey, Nita Hopp
and Jefferson Street Christian Church. We would also like to thank
those who helped serve or brought desserts, and to all those who
purchased tickets. This whole event brought many blessings to us,
and we thank you all.
