Virginia Salzman

[April 20, 2007]  Virginia A. Salzman, 71, of Lincoln died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at 8:06 a.m. at her home.

Her body was cremated, and there will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Episcopal Church, with the Rev. James Cravens officiating.

Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mrs. Salzman was the retired owner and operator of Holistic Child Care in Vernon Hills.

She was born Sept. 26, 1935, in Peoria County to John and Frances Grimsley Dennis. She married Ron Dowell in November 1953. She later married Dr. Wallace Salzman in 1968.

She is survived by one son, Dennis (and Eva) Dowell of Mundelein; two daughters, Karen Dennis of Lincoln and Jennifer (and M. Christopher) Vecellio of Houston, Texas; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. She was the last of her immediate family.

She attended Trinity Episcopal Church in Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, or St. John's Hospice in Springfield.
