[April 24, 2007]  ATLANTA -- Adam K. Dovel, 12, of rural Atlanta died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at 10:39 p.m. at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Atlanta Christian Church, with Maurice Stribling officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Quiram Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta and on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the service time.

Burial will be in Mount Joy Cemetery, rural Atlanta.

Adam was a sixth-grade student at Olympia South Grade School in Atlanta.

He was born May 15, 1994, in Bloomington to Mark Kent and Brenda Marie Huggett Dovel.

He is survived by his parents, of Atlanta; two sisters, Allison Spence of Atlanta and Jessica Baines of Normal; his maternal grandfather, Kenneth "C.J." Huggett of Normal; and his paternal grandparents, Marvin Dovel of Farmer City and Jeanne Dovel of Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Huggett.

He was a member of the grade school band and the Atlanta Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to Children's Hospital of Illinois in Peoria.
