James McWilliams

[April 25, 2007]  James Allen McWilliams, 75, of Lincoln died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at 5:40 a.m. at his home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lincoln Christian Church, with Tim Searby officiating.

Burial, with military rites, will be in New Union Cemetery.

Mr. McWilliams was a retired State Farm insurance agent.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956

He was born April 12, 1932, at Olney to Glen and Thelma Bateman McWilliams. He married Glenys Ann Sprague on March 25, 1951, at Olney.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; his mother, of Olney; one son, Bruce Allen (and Sue) McWilliams of Tremont; two daughters, Lisa Ann (and Greg) Curry of Lincoln and Jamie Lynn (and Don) Beers of Bainbridge, N.Y.; one sister, Sue (and Terry) Stanley of Carterville; eight grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son-in-law, Steve Gleason.

He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church. He was also a member and past president of Olney Kiwanis Club and a former member of Lincoln Rotary.

Memorials may be made to Lincoln Christian Church Harvest of Talents or the American Cancer Society.
