Josephine Noon

[August 01, 2007]  MIDDLETOWN -- Josephine M. Noon, 86, of Middletown died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at 8:10 a.m. at the Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Middletown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dayle Eldridge and the Rev. Robert Ervin co-officiating.

Burial will be in Irish Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Noon was employed for 28 years with the Illinois Department of Revenue, where she did clerical work.

She was born May 2, 1921, in Lincoln to Edward and Katherine Kline Krotz. She married Dean Noon on July 12, 1946, in Lincoln.

She is survived by her husband, of Middletown; two daughters, Sandy Bacon of Lincoln and Loretta (and Ross) Sowers of Middletown; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one brother, George Krotz, and one granddaughter, Kathy Lynn Bacon. She was the last of her immediate family.

She was a member of Middletown United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post 672 of Middletown and Royal Neighbors of America.

Memorials may be made to her church or to Alzheimer's disease research.
