[August 07, 2007]  Michael Eugene Miller, 53, of Battle Ground, Ind., formerly of the Hartsburg-Emden area, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at 9:15 p.m. at his home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Emden, with the Rev. David L. Hofer officiating.

Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg.

There will be a celebration of life ceremony at Geetingsville Presbyterian Church, Frankfort, Ind., on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Mr. Miller worked for the Indiana Crop Improvement Association and was currently employed by Unity Seeds, both of Lafayette, Ind. He was production manager for the Jacques Seed Company from 1978 to 1993. He then worked for Mycogen Seed from 1993 to 1996. He worked for Remington in 1997 and then moved to Indiana and continued his seed career.

He was born Oct. 6, 1953, in Frankfort, Ind., to Wayne and Joyce Kingery Miller. He married Nancy S. Sampson on Dec. 8, 1978, in Evansville, Ind.

He is survived by his parents, of Frankfort, Ind.; his wife, of Battle Ground, Ind.; three daughters, Holly (and Troy) Knollenberg of Normal, Vanessa (and Ron) Barry of Emden and Heather Miller of Jacksonville, Fla.; one son, Shawn (and Lisa) Miller of Lincoln; three brothers, Steve (and Stacy) Miller of Rossville, Ind., Jeff (and Diane) Miller of Cutler, Ind., and John (and Kathy) Miller of Rossville, Ind.; and five grandchildren, Chelsey and Kylee Knollenberg; Alexis and Lillian Barry, and Zoe Miller.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

He was a member of Geetingsville Presbyterian Church, Frankfort, Ind.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing.

Memorials may be made to the Hartsburg Future Farmers of America, American Heart Association or St. Peter Lutheran Church of Emden.
