Harry McFadden

[August 20, 2007]  Harry Robert McFadden, 89, of Lincoln died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at 2:55 p.m. at the Christian Village Nursing Home.

His funeral will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Jefferson Street Christian Church, with David P. McFadden and Craig Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. at the church.

Burial will be in Bicknell Cemetery in Bicknell, Ind., at a later date.

Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McFadden was a minister for over 60 years, serving churches in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky and Florida.

He was born April 22, 1918, in Indiana to Clarence and Leota McFadden. He married Z. Eloise Bicknell on April 27, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years; three sons, H. Robert (and wife Jan) McFadden Jr. of Kokomo, Ind., David Paul (and Debbie) McFadden of Bartlett and Kevin Dale (and Reva) McFadden of Lincoln; one daughter, Carol Joy Bennett of Decatur; one brother, Howard (and Ruby) McFadden of Missouri; one sister, Jean Barnes of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a son-in-law, Mike Bennett of Lawndale.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two stepmothers, Fay McFadden and Geneva Chandler McFadden.

He was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church.

He graduated from Boswell High School in Indiana, attended Ball State University and graduated from Cincinnati Bible College and Seminary.

Memorials may be made to the Harry R. McFadden Scholarship Fund at Florida Christian Collage at Kissimmee, Fla.
