[August 21, 2007]  Connie Albert, 57, of Lincoln died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at 11:05 p.m. at her family home.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lincoln Christian Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the church.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Mrs. Albert taught at Chester-East Lincoln and Beason.

She was born May 15, 1950, in Columbus, Ga., to Robert and Emogene Thomas. She married Jack Albert on Aug. 10, 1985, in Lincoln.

She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; her parents, of Lincoln; two sons, Frank Yeates and Casey Albert, both of Lincoln; one daughter, Bridget Yeates of Lincoln; two sisters, Caroline Nota of Lincoln and Mamie (and Dennis) Shull of Lincoln; two brothers, Gary (and Alita) Thomas of Noble and Robert "Bob" Thomas Jr. (and Penny) of Lincoln; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.

She began teaching school in 1973 and taught for one year at Chester-East Lincoln. She later taught at Beason Grade School from 1985 until 1994 and returned to teaching at Chester-East Lincoln in the fall of 1994 when the schools were consolidated. She was very dedicated to her students.

Memorials may be made to Lincoln Christian Church or Chester-East Lincoln.
