Lincoln Daily News
welcomes letters of appreciation, information and
opinion on matters pertaining to the community.
Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

To the editor: In February 2004, Lincoln AMVETS Post 71 started
their Veterans Honor Roll project in All Veterans Park.
From that date to present, we have had so many volunteers
assisting us in many, various ways that we have striven to find the
correct way of saying thank you to each and every one of you. Since
so much time has passed, we are not going to list your names, since
we would probably forget someone and we would not want to do that.
You all know who you are and what you did.
So here is a great big THANK YOU to each of you. You have
assisted our post in making this project a success. It is such a
beautiful place of reflection on those whose names appear on the
bricks. Each trip to the park brings peace and tranquillity.

We have room for 250-plus bricks left, and then the project will
be closed. So, if you wish to have a brick placed alongside of the
heroes already there, please get your order form completed and send
it and your check for $35 to the address on the form. Any U.S.
military veteran from any war can be placed here for
eternity.
Once again, thank you from our membership for your
valuable assistance in this project. We hope the entire citizens of
the area enjoy the park and especially the Veterans Honor Roll.
