Henry Robert Koke

[December 03, 2007]  Henry Robert "Bob" Koke, 79, of Lincoln died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Lincoln Christian Church. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery.

Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mr. Koke retired from Lincoln Developmental Center in 1991 after 36 years as a radiologic technician.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955.

He was born April 22, 1928, in Sangamon County to Henry E. and Tressie Taylor Koke. He married Ann Kurth on Aug. 3, 1958, at Lincoln Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Carol Meyer of Roselle; one son, Mike Koke of Lincoln; one brother, Chuck Koke of Springfield; two sisters, Dorothy Hughes of Springfield and Helen Miers of Fallon, Nev.; four grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.

He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church, where he served as a deacon and a junior high Sunday school teacher for several years. He was a member of the Beacon class at the church.

Memorials may be made to his church, the American Heart Foundation or National Kidney Foundation.
