Albert DeRight

[December 05, 2007]  CHESTNUT -- Albert DeRight, 73, of Chestnut, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at 4:56 p.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur.

Visitation will be at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, followed by a rosary service at 7 p.m.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Mount Pulaski, with Father Thomas Shaw officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Assumption, with a 1 p.m. graveside service.

Mr. DeRight retired from Caterpillar in Peoria.

He served with the U.S. Army Military Police.

He was born Dec. 6, 1933, at Panama, Ill., to Pete and Justine Grill DeRight. He married Patricia Ann Fortner in Decatur on Oct. 17, 1959; she preceded him in death on Aug. 21, 1991. He married Donna Riedle in Lincoln on Nov. 17, 2000.

He is survived by his wife, of Chestnut; two sons, Stephen A. (and Vickie) DeRight of Carrollton, Ga., and Jeffrey (and Lisa) DeRight of Mount Pulaski; two daughters, Rita A. (and Kirk) Cyrulik of Casner and Tara (and Jeffrey) Chandler of Chestnut; three stepsons, Greg Riedle of Lincoln, Jeff Riedle of Perry, Mo., and Chad (and Sarah) Riedle of Palmyra, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Jodi Koehler of Lincoln; one brother, James (and Rosalyn) DeRight of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Spencer Cyrulik, Jared DeRight, Skylar DeRight, Madison Chandler, Haley DeRight, Ainsley DeRight and Logan DeRight; and six stepgrandchildren, Adam Koehler, Gerred Koehler, Dustin Riedle, Ashlyn Riedle, Iesha Riedle and Montgomery Riedle.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus of Decatur, Chestnut Men's Club and the United Auto Workers.
