Louis Granacher

[December 08, 2007]  WAYNESVILLE -- Louis E. Granacher, 72, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. at his home.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery, Waynesville, with Tony Billingsley officiating.

Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Granacher retired from Wallace Computer Service in Clinton.

He was born Jan. 9, 1935, in Bloomington to John M. and Naomi P. Morgan Granacher Sr. He married Phyllis Park on May 30, 1958, in Colfax.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years; his daughters, Laurie E. (and Tom) Sanders of Normal and Page E. (and Douglas) Wood of Normal; his grandchildren, Rachel (and Michael) Lockett of Minnesota, and Louis Sanders, Elizabeth Sanders and Tyler Sanders, all of Normal; and two great-grandchildren, Michael Lockett and Emma Lockett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

He enjoyed hunting and horseback riding and was an avid fan of NASCAR and the Cubs.

Memorials may be made to the Waynesville Fire and Rescue Department or the McLean Christian Church.
