Though the 60-second spot is called "New Beginning," it focuses on the goals Clinton has been describing in her basic campaign speech for much of the last year
-- restoring the nation's standing in the world, rebuilding the middle class and providing for children. The ad mixes footage of Clinton delivering a campaign speech with shots of applauding crowds.
The nation needs a "new beginning" on health care in the form of affordable, universal coverage, she says. Similarly, she calls for a new beginning in education by ending No Child Left Behind, the federal education accountability law that many complain has led to an overemphasis on standardized tests. She also promises a new beginning on foreign policy by ending the war in Iraq.
"It takes strength and experience to bring about change. I have a very clear record of 35 years fighting for children and families, fighting for working people, fighting for our future," Clinton says. "I will stand up for you every single day in the White House."
