Lincoln College radio students
are going around the world. The college's student-run radio station,
89X, has started streaming audio 24/7 on the Internet.

John Malone, WLNX general manager, says he is happy to reach this
station goal. "We've planned on offering streaming for more
than two years," he said. "It became a top priority once we
completed the move to a new location. I'm very excited that we'll be
reaching alumni and friends all over the world, including the
parents of our staffers who live out of the area." Lincoln College
President John Hutchinson echoed Malone's excitement for the
improvement. "The availability of Internet streaming for WLNX
is another milestone in Lincoln College's effort to make its radio
station the finest in Illinois," he said. "With our new and
energetic broadcast instructor, John Malone, our new
state-of-the-art studio in a newly dedicated building, a revitalized
curriculum, and now Internet streaming, the college can boast of
having what so many other collegiate stations can only dream about.
My hat is off to Mr. Malone and all of the students who have helped
this to become a reality."
WLNX's music and programs will require listeners to have Version
11 or higher of Windows Media Player to hear the broadcast.
