Elsie Bruce

[December 13, 2007]  Elsie L. Bruce, 85, of Lincoln, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at 3 a.m. at The Christian Village

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery at a later date.

Mrs. Bruce retired after 34 years with Sears Roebuck in Lincoln, where she worked as an audit clerk.

She was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Sugarland, Texas, to Bruno and Martha Heptner Pausewang. She married Charles C. Bruce in 1945 in Sugarland, and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, Michael (and Lynnette) Bruce of Lincoln; one daughter, Nitsie (and Dennis) Gleason of Lincoln; and five grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

She was a member of Holy Family Church in Lincoln, a member and past president of American Legion Auxiliary Post 263, and an avid supporter of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Memorials may be made to The Christian Village.
