Mildred McKoon

[December 28, 2007]  Mildred McKoon, 89, of Lincoln died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at 2:05 p.m. at The Christian Village.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with James Strauss officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland.

Mrs. McKoon was a homemaker.

She was born June 24, 1918, at New Holland to Ed and Lottie Hendrickson Mangold. She married Mark Stewart in 1943, and he preceded her in death in 1952. She married Willis "Bud" McKoon on July 3, 1957, in Carthage, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 1991.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Boyd of Bloomington and Sandy (and Almon) Helton of Lincoln; one son, Roger Stewart of Springfield; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, one sister, one stepdaughter and one grandson. She was the last of her immediate family.

She attended church services at Friendship Manor.

Memorials may be made to Friendship Manor or the donor's choice.
