Matthew "Matt" Wertin, 96, of Lincoln died
Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, at 12:01 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at New Union
Cemetery, with the Rev. John Johnson officiating. There will be no visitation. |

Home, Lincoln. Mr. Wertin was the retired owner
and operator of Tru-Air Heating and Air
Conditioning.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was born Oct. 10, 1910, in Lincoln to Matthew
F. and Edith Rebecca Morris Wertin. He married
Eleanor Lenz on Jan. 4, 1942. She preceded him in
death on Dec. 30, 2004.
He is survived by one son-in-law, Roby Parks of
Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Bruce
Wertin, and one daughter, Jan Parks. |
He was a member of American Legion Post 263 and
Lincoln Elks Lodge 914.
