[JAN. 9, 2007]  PEKIN -- Jeffrey Scott Secrest, 42, of 1317 Jansen St. died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at 9:05 p.m. at his home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. led by the Rev. Jimmy Walden.

His funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father David Whiteside will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Delavan.

Mr. Secrest was employed by the County Market in Pekin for 10 years, last working in the produce department on Saturday.

He was born Jan. 1, 1965, in Peoria to Lyle L. and Judy A. Shoultz Secrest.

Surviving are his mother, of Pekin; his father and stepmother, Lyle L. and Debra J. Secrest of Pekin; one brother, Gregory A. Secrest of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Lori A. Mammen and Lisa L. Secrest, both of Pekin; a half sister, Rachel L. Secrest of Pekin; two stepbrothers, Jared (and Jen) Porter of Pekin and Jason (and Betty) Porter of Pekin; his paternal grandmother, Elsie Williams of Pekin; two nieces, Ashley N. Mammen and Dylan R. Mammen, both of Pekin; and one nephew, Cody L. Mammen of Pekin.

He was of the Catholic faith.

He loved to play the guitar and listen to country music. He also had enjoyed playing the drums.

He was a 1983 graduate of Delavan High School.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his mother in care of Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Fourth, Pekin, IL 61554.
