Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Pekin.
Mr. Moldenhauer and her husband farmed for 41
years in the Forest City, Delavan and Easton areas
before retiring to Pekin in 1987. She had taught for
several years before her marriage.
She was born July 15, 1924, in Green Valley to
John and Ada Goodin Harris. She married William E.
Moldenhauer of Forest City on May 19, 1946, at St.
Paul's Lutheran Church, Manito.
She is survived by her husband; one daughter,
Darla Moldenhauer of Bourbonnais; two sons, Dennis
W. Moldenhauer of Easton and Mark Moldenhauer of
Topeka; three sisters, Phyllis Webster of Lincoln
and Ruth Kurtz and Beverly Powers, both of Delavan;
and one brother, John (and Helen) Harris of New
Orleans.
One brother, Marshall Harris of Green Valley,
preceded her in death.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in
Pekin, the Easton Women's Club and the Mason County
Farm Bureau. She also was active in the Tri-County
Twirlers square dance group and in the Coachman
Camping Club for 27 years.
Earlier in her life she was a renowned softball
pitcher. She served as an IHSA sports official and
assisted with the IHSA Softball Hitting Derby.
She enjoyed playing cards and socializing with
friends. Traveling and sports continued to be her
passion throughout her life.
She graduated from Green Valley High School and
attended Illinois State Normal University.
