Golf outing helps Logan County kids          Send a link to a friend

Dear Editor:

The rain clouds parted just in time for another great Fore ALMH golf outing on June 22.

The more than $16,000 raised will support the expansion of pediatric preventive dental services on the new HOPE Mobile.

Many sponsors contributed to this successful event. They include the State Bank of Lincoln, Regions Bank, Harold O'Shea Builders, Woods & Bates, Graue Inc., Central Illinois Community Blood Center, Merrill Lynch representative Eric Graue, H.D. Smith Wholesale Drug Co., CEFCU, Logan County Bank, Pansing-Nolan-Matlock Ltd. & The Core Group, Optimum Investment Advisors, Kristi Lessen in memory of Jake Lessen, Clinical Radiologists, Culligan Water Products, Eaton Electrical, Guzzardo's Italian Villa, Illinois American Water, Illini Bank, Denman Services, Quentin and Mary Beth Sparks, J.M. Abbott & Associates Ltd., ALMH Auxiliary, Fitness Balance, Century Dental Center and Puritan Springs Water.

[to top of second column in this letter]

Our volunteers that day included Judy Busby, Barb Dahm, Norma Engle, Joan Horrom, Dorothy Laatsch, Tara Matheson, Karen Miller, Pat Purseglove, Judy Smith and Holly Woodhall.

A special thanks goes out to Dan and Mary McLaughlin who set up signs in the rain, as well as the staff and board members of the Lincoln Elks who went above and beyond to accommodate our group's needs.

Because of the generous support of every Fore ALMH golfer, sponsor and volunteer, many Logan County kids are now receiving care from a dentist and dental hygienist for the very first time. We suspect that this will lead to healthier and happier kids in the years to come. Thank you.
