[July 07, 2007]  The Edward Jones 10-and-under Pony team split separate doubleheaders on Tuesday and Thursday to end its season.

"I am very proud of all the girls and their improvement," Coach Kim Koester said.

Edward Jones lost Game 1 Thursday, 10-9 to Clinton. Taylor Sparrow pitched and recorded five strikeouts.

At the plate, Sami Fletcher had three hits; Ashlen Lessen had two hits and Meg Meeker, Morgan Gleason, Shelby Osborne and Meeker each had one hit.

The team then defeated Clinton 25-8. Meeker was the winner, striking out five. Fletcher recorded the save, striking out one.

Fletcher led the way with three hits; Meeker, Gleason and Sparrow each collected two hits and Kaitlyn Frizzel, Reilly Gallagher and Osborne all had one hit.

Edward Jones lost its first game of the season Tuesday, 15-13 to McEntire's in a doubleheader opener.

Gleason and Meeker both had three hits; Sparrow had two hits and Savannah Conrady, Emmi Fisher, Osborne, Lessen and Gallagher each had one hit.

In Game 2, the team blanked MKS 18-0. Gleason was the winner, striking out four.

Sparrow and Gleason both had three hits, while Conrady, Meeker and Lessen each had two hits. Frizzel, Fletcher, Fisher and Gallagher collected one hit apiece.
