[March 19, 2010]  Hartsburg, sponsored by S&N Fireworks, got out of the gate hard, then held off a hard-charging Lincoln team, sponsored by Wal-Mart, to earn the league championship with an 11-8 victory Friday night in 13-14-year-old baseball action.

Lefties Jason O'Brien and Cody Bolen limited Wal-Mart to seven hits to notch the victory and save, respectively. Each helped his own cause. O'Brien had three hits and three runs scored, while Bolen had a triple and double. Zach Leonard and Caleb Hoerbert also had hits for S&N Fireworks, with Hoerbert providing a key two-out double that brought home two runs.

Hartsburg finished the season 13-1.

For Wal-Mart, Jake Olson and Hayden Matson each had a hit and two runs scored. Austin Jones and Jason Buckles each had a hit and run scored. Tanner Smith was 3-for-4. Smith (4-3) took the loss on the mound despite striking out 12 S&N hitters. Jones had four strikeouts over two innings of work.

Wal-Mart finished the season 10-7 in second place in the league.
