[July 20, 2007]  Elsie B. Jones, 83, of Lincoln, formerly of Elkhart, died Thursday, July 19, 2007, at 6:06 p.m. at her home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Craig Smith and Frank Bush officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Jones was a homemaker.

She was born Jan. 4, 1924, in Mahomet to Verne and Ruth Miner Rittenhouse. She married Joseph K. Jones on July 9, 1943, in Mahomet.

She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; three daughters, Janet (and David) Bell of Scottsdale, Ariz., Janice Kubicek of Irving, Texas, and Marsha (and Frank) Comito of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four brothers, Elmer Rittenhouse, Warren Rittenhouse, Wayne Rittenhouse, all of Urbana, and Glenn Rittenhouse of Champaign; four granddaughters; one grandson; two great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons.

One brother, Ralph, preceded her in death.

She was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln.

She was a 1941 graduate of Mahomet High School.

Memorials may be made to Jefferson Street Christian Church or the Christian Village.
