[July 27, 2007]  On Thursday, Lincoln's Senior Legion baseball team beat Pontiac in a 6-5 thriller in the second game of the district tournament at Lincoln.

After trailing Pontiac 5-3 going into the top of the ninth inning, Lincoln rallied for three runs to go ahead 6-5. With two outs and a runner at second base, Lincoln strung together four consecutive hits, with pinch hitter Justin Mason driving in the go-ahead run with the fourth single and fifth hit of the inning.

Winning pitcher Craemer Soebbing then closed out the ninth for the victory. After the first two Pontiac batters reached base, Soebbing struck out the next batter, coaxed a fly out to right and then struck out the last batter to help Lincoln claim the win in the tourney game. Soebbing worked the final four innings, giving up no runs on five hits and striking out eight Pontiac batters.

Lincoln had 14 total hits in the game, with Cody Aughton and Josh Baker each picking up three hits, Justin Ritchhart a triple and a double, Royce Duncan a double, and Gary Rademaker two hits.
