Arnold Heins

[May 31, 2007]  A graveside service for Arnold Heins will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Zion Cemetery. Military rites will be performed at the grave site.

Mr. Heins, 77, died May 9, 2007, in Port Charlotte, Fla.

Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.

Mr. Heins proudly served his country in the armed forces and was a Pearl Harbor survivor.

He was born Aug. 20, 1919, in Lincoln to John and Sophie Heins. He married Helen Bateman-Hart on Nov. 7, 1970, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his wife, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two daughters, Beverly Lessen (and Larry) of Lincoln and Charlene Lessen (and Ben) of Lincoln; and one brother, Paul Heins (and Doris), also of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Carl and Walter Heins.

He built model airplanes, and one of his models is displayed in the Smithsonian Institute.
