[June 11, 2007]  PETERSBURG -- The Wal-Mart 13-14-year-old baseball team split a doubleheader with Petersburg on Friday night, losing the first game 12-5 but hanging on for a win in the second, 10-9.

In game one, Andy Krusz and Austin Jones each had two hits, including a double. Krusz also had two RBIs while taking the loss on the mound to even his record on the season at 1-1.

In the nightcap, Wal-Mart’s bats came to life for 11 hits. Krusz had three hits and three runs scored. Jones and Tanner Smith each had two hits. Jones scored twice, while Smith had three RBIs. Jake Olson, Jason Buckles and Cory Janssen each had a hit with two RBIs. Zach Schleder had a double. Smith (2-0) and Olson notched the win and save respectively, combining to strike out 13 batters in six innings.
