Wal-Mart 13-14s vs. Mount Pulaski, Klemm Tax Service

[June 13, 2007]  In the Lincoln 13-14-year-old baseball division, Wal-Mart won games against two different teams on Monday night to improve their record to 5-1.

In the first game, Wal-Mart defeated Mount Pulaski 17-2 behind the pitching of Tanner Smith (3-0) and Austin Jones, allowing only four hits.

At the plate, Jones was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Smith, Andy Krusz, Cory Janssen and Luke Donath each had two hits. Garrett Cooper and Jake Olson each had a hit and scored three runs. Jason Buckles, Josh Gill and Zach Schleder also had hits for Wal-Mart.

Dru Hauser and Sean Knauer had hits that produced runs for Mount Pulaski.

In the second game, Wal-Mart defeated Klemm Tax Service 12-1.

On the mound, Olson (1-0) and Janssen combined on a two-hitter, allowing only one earned run over six innings.

At the plate, Donath was 3-for-3, while Krusz and Janssen each had two hits and inside-the-park home runs. Jones, Smith, Buckles, Gill and Seth Graue contributed hits as well.

Eric Michael and Zach Lee had hits for Klemm Tax Service.

Wal-Mart had 28 hits in only 10 innings of at-bats in the two games.
