[June 27, 2007]  Wal-Mart (7-3) has split their first two games of the week. On Monday, a team from Hartsburg-Emden pounded out 14 hits, including five extra-base hits, to defeat Wal-Mart 11-1.

Cody Bolen pitched five innings for Hartem, allowing only one hit and striking out seven. Bolen had three hits and scored three runs. Devon Swart had two hits and scored two runs.

Jake Olson had the lone hit for Wal-Mart.

In their second game this week, pitching and defense were factors as Wal-Mart defeated Leake Antennae 7-3.

Andy Krusz (2-2) and Austin Jones combined to allow only three hits.

Wal-Mart turned two double plays in the game. The first was second to shortstop to first, from Jake Olson to Corey Janssen to Jones. The second was a putout-assist by Luke Donath -- a catch in center field and a throw to third to get a runner who tagged at second.

Garrett Cooper, Krusz, Janssen, Hayden Matson and Jason Buckles had hits for Wal-Mart.

For Leake Antennae, Jade Leake had two hits, one a double. Caleb Wieber also had a hit and two RBIs for Leake.
