[May 07, 2007]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Paul Edward Schilt, 82, Mount Pulaski died Saturday, May 5, 2007, at 9:20 p.m. at his home.

Services will be private, for the family.

Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery, West Salem.

Mr. Schlit had been a child care technician and supervisor at Lincoln Developmental Center.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946.

He was born March 5, 1925, in Louisville, Ky., to Arthur Ralph and Emily Marie Lambert Schilt. He married Dorothy C. Kerster in West Salem on July 10, 1947.

He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski; two daughters, Arlene Rose Schilt (and Jeff Burgett) of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, and Heidi C. McCormick (and Mark) of Mount Pulaski; one son, F. Steven Schilt of Portland, Ore.; one brother, Wayne D. Schilt (and Bonnie) of West Salem; and one granddaughter, Elyse Christine McCormick of Mount Pulaski.

During his military service he received the Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon and European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Battle Star, one Overseas Bar and the Good Conduct Medal.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran School or the National Kidney Foundation.
