Respect paid for officer

City offices to close midday Thursday          Send a link to a friend

[May 22, 2007]  Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag at Monday night's city council meeting, Lincoln Mayor Beth Davis called for a moment of silence in honor of police officer Todd M. Blaum. Blaum lost his life in an off-duty vehicle accident on Saturday.

The Lincoln city offices will be closed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday to allow personnel and staff to attend Blaum's funeral service.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, next to Lincoln Junior High. His funeral begins at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
