Julie Kastendick

[May 22, 2007]  Julie Elaine Kastendick, 48, of Lincoln died Monday, May 21, 2007, at 4:34 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Thompson and the Rev. Mark Peters officiating.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Mrs. Kastendick worked as a unit clerk for Memorial Medical Center in Springfield and was a self-employed home day-care provider for many years.

She was born Oct. 27, 1958, in Decatur to Edgar Joseph and Charlotte L. Cook Ewing. She married Daniel Kastendick on Oct. 29, 1988, in Decatur.

She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; her mother, of Decatur; one son, Daniel R. Bryson of Lincoln; one daughter, Diana L. Kastendick of Lincoln; two brothers, Joseph N. (and Pam) Ewing of Decatur and Randy G. (and Debbie) Ewing of Decatur; and one sister, Sherri A. Loney of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Diane Ewing.

She attended Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran School in Lincoln or to the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
