Lincoln Daily News
welcomes letters of appreciation, information and
opinion on matters pertaining to the community.
Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

To the editor: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! to the
organizations and individuals that helped our classes go to the
Peoria Chiefs game on May 17.
Nineteen students and eight adults attended the game through the
generosity of Chris Coyne Insurance Agency, Webster Construction,
American Legion Post 263, The Oasis senior center, Tri-County
Special Education Association, and the teachers and staff at Lincoln
Community High School.
Our favorite things at the ballpark were food, dancing, food,
singing, T-shirt throwing, food, seventh-inning stretch, food,
souvenirs, food and -- from several Cardinal fans in the crowd --
the Chiefs losing.
