Forrest Wachter

[November 16, 2007]  Forrest Eldon Wachter, 88, of Paris, Mo., a former Lincoln resident, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Tim Searby officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mr. Wachter was a retired Logan County farmer.

He was a veteran of World War II.

He was born March 6, 1919, in Latham to Joseph and Lavena Richner Wachter. He married Helen Rohlfs on Nov. 28, 1947.

He is survived by his wife, of Paris, Mo.; two sons, Michael Wachter of Mount Pulaski and David Wachter of Lincoln; one daughter, Laura Long of Paris, Mo.; one sister, Ilona Pech of Lincoln; six grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

Mr. Wachter was a member of Lincoln Christian Church. He had served on the Chester-East Lincoln school board, and while living in Paris, Mo., he served on the senior citizens board there.

He enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.
