Frank E. Krotz, 54, of Naples, Fla.,
formerly of Lincoln and Decatur, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at
8:35 p.m. at Naples Community Hospital. He died peacefully,
surrounded by loving family, after a brief illness. |
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at
Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln. As a devout
Catholic, he requested a rosary service, which will
be at 4:30 p.m., prior to visitation. His funeral
Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family
Catholic Church in Lincoln.
Immediately following burial, there will be a
celebration lunch at the K of C for all family and
friends.
Mr. Krotz was employed at the Naples Daily News
in Florida.
He was born April 13, 1953, in Lincoln to Edward
and Cecilia Krotz.
He leaves behind his dedicated and loving wife,
Melissa; his mother, Cecilia; brothers Edward, Mark
and Keith; sister Sheila; and stepson, Shane.
Never-to-be-forgotten "sweetie" Marlene, Belinda and
Debbie will miss his heartfelt expression of love.
He was known as a loving uncle to Eddie, Celia,
Jennifer, Karl, Nicole and Jessica and great-uncle
to Alex, Cassie and Aden.
He spent most of his adult life in Decatur before
moving to Naples, Fla., 11 years ago to escape the
cold winters. Working at the newspaper inspired his
literary spirit to shine through in published
articles and musings he thought important. Employed
in the advertising sales department for over 10
years, he frequently exceeded company sales goals
because he had the ability to see what was right for
his customer, enabling him to pursue numerous sales
achievement awards of recognition. |
He was an avid golfer who played the best Naples has
to offer. Trivia was also important to him and
frequently he entered nationwide contests on NTN,
where he was rated in the top 5 percent.
Most important to him were the Bronx Bombers.
Yes, we are talking about the New York Yankees, who
left an impression on him as a boy in Little League
which he carried into manhood. He knew more history
and stats about the team than most sports writers.
The team will lose a loyal and faithful fan who
never wavered in support over 45 years.
His love of the game mirrored his love of life,
which explained his easygoing ways. Never in doubt
was his love for family.
