[November 29, 2007]  ATLANTA -- Gloria B. Petersen, 69, of Atlanta died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at 9:21 p.m. at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta, with the Rev. Richard Reinwald officiating.

Cremation rites have been accorded and no visitation is scheduled.

Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.

Mrs. Petersen taught judo, swimming lessons and other exercise classes for a number of years in Lincoln and Atlanta.

She was born Oct. 18, 1938, in Detroit, Mich., to Charles and Sylvia Forsman Sage. She married Harley "Pete" R. Petersen on June 24, 1961, in Saginaw, Mich. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2006.

She is survived by one son, Todd (and Patty) Petersen of Litchfield; her mother and stepfather, Sylvia and Richard Rowe of Hancock, Mich.; two sisters, Elsie "Dusty" Coleman of Hancock, Mich., and Marcia Zbib of Pullman, Wash.; and four grandchildren, Lucas, Lydia, Trisha and Zachary.

She was also preceded in death by her father, Charles Sage, and one son, Steven Petersen.

She was a former member of the Lincoln Area Chorale. 

She graduated from Hancock High School in Hancock, Mich.
