[October 18, 2007]  Susan K. "Susie" Fults, 64, of Lincoln died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at 8:05 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, following a prayer service at 3:30.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jeff Laible officiating.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

She was a nurse for Dr. Jack Means in Mason City for 20 years, worked at Family Medical Center for 10 years and was employed as a unit nurse at Lincoln Correctional Center for five years.

She was born Jan. 30, 1943, in Ardmore, Okla., to Dr. Ralph E. and Marjorie Martin Mills. She married Ron Shutts in 1962. She later married Jeffery E. "Jocko" Fults on Nov. 17, 1990, in Lincoln.

She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; one son, Mark Shutts of Lincoln; three stepdaughters, Kim (and Rick) Freer of Athens, Angela Fults of Springfield and Amber Fults of Chicago; two brothers, John Cameron (and Nancy) Mills of Springfield and David (and Sandy) Mills of East Peoria; one sister, Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Keefe of Lincoln; one stepbrother, Joe (and Marianne) Foutch of Hilton Head, N.C.; two granddaughters, Bailey and Bryce; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and the Lincoln Eagles Lodge Auxiliary.

She enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, bird-watching and flower gardening

She attended St. Patrick's Grade School and Lincoln Community High School. She graduated from Springfield School of Nursing in 1972.

Memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus general fund.
