Lincoln's leaf pickup program   Send a link to a friend

[October 23, 2007]  The Lincoln Street Department will start the city leaf pickup program on Nov. 1.

The leaves must be put in biodegradable paper bags. No brush will be picked up. City crews will leave brush at the curb, and the resident will be responsible for the cleanup.

The bags must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on the dates listed for each ward. Once the crews go down each street in each ward, they will not return until the next scheduled pickup date.

The following dates for each ward are subject to change due to weather and timing of leaves dropping or not.

Beginning Oct. 30 through Dec. 2, the city landfill will be open from 8 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday for dumping landscape waste. This service is free of charge to Lincoln residents.

Fresh mulch will also be available at the landfill. The mulch is free and is finer than what has been available in the past.

Also, the landfill hours for the winter start Oct. 24. Those hours are Wednesdays and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.

The landfill is located at Broadwell Drive and Old 66, north of the Salt Creek bridge.
