Schilling to pick up reins in interim

[October 24, 2007]  Ron Schilling has stepped down as the president of the Lincoln & Logan County Development Partnership to assume duties as the interim executive director. Schilling, retired Lincoln College president, served as interim director for the Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County in 2005 between Celeste Rogers and current director Geoff Ladd.

At Monday night's meeting, the board gave approval for Schilling to fill the position being vacated by Rob Orr.

Orr announced his departure two weeks ago. He is leaving to take an assignment with the St. Louis Development Corp.

Other shifts on the board:

  • Will D'Andrea, Logan County zoning officer, was elected as the group's new president.

  • Todd Lowman of Garland Gehrke Trucking was elected vice president.

The development partnership is actively searching for a new full-time director. A job announcement is available online at www.lincolnlogan.com.

Orr's final day is Friday. A reception is planned at the office from 4 to 6 p.m., with a toast to be offered at 5:15 p.m., for those wishing to thank Orr and recognize him for his numerous accomplishments in the last four years.
